Looking for Summer 2025 Internship opportunities to gain hands-on experience? Two of the most iconic fashion brands in the world, Kate Spade and Coach, are partnering with WindowsWear to offer a unique opportunity for students to collaborate directly on exciting projects, with the chance to win a paid internship in New York City.
In this program, you’ll have the chance to pitch innovative ideas to top-tier brands, with each offering a unique challenge for aspiring professionals. If you’re ready to showcase your creativity, problem-solving skills and passion for retail, this is your chance to work with these two renowned brands.
KATE SPADE SUMMER 2025 INTERNSHIP COMPETITION DETAILS
Deadline: February 28, 2025 by 11:59pm ET.
Kate Spade invites you to design a strategy that maintains the unique personality of the brand while they evolve away from novelty and storytelling and focus on building a stronger base of core handbags, acquiring new and younger consumers, and elevating the brand.
For this project the brand wants you to think beyond their windows and in store experience. Provide new ways to approach the tools & guidelines that they share with their teams to ensure excellent execution in stores.
Details to be considered while developing your project:
- Overall experience
- What do we want customers to feel? What is the emotional connection?
- Think beyond window displays and in store experience
- include new ways to approach the tools & guidelines that we share to our teams in the stores
Guidelines & Eligibility
All submissions must include:
- Research, strategic approach and a full creative presentation to showcase
- A description of the changing landscape and the impact it has on stores
- Visualization (images, sketch, renderings, drawings, etc)
- Resume of the participant
You can present your submission in any preferred readable format such as PDF slides, video or any other innovative format to add a personal touch. Each submission may only be made by one individual, must be entirely your own work and must not be the work of a team. Your submission must not include any elements from any other artist’s or designer’s creations, work or pieces.
ELIGIBILITY
All U.S. residents, including international students residing in the U.S. on a student visa are eligible to enter, must have either a Social Security Number or an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number at the time of being notified as a potential winner to be eligible to win.
Judging & Prizes
All submissions received before Friday, February 28th 2025 at 11:59 PM ET will be judged by WindowsWear who will determine the top five “Finalists”.
Judging will be based:
- 30% on originality
- 30% on overall design aesthetics
- 30% on best use of innovation
- 10% for the project explanation
Students that have some form of software design skills: Sketch Up, Rhino, or any other 3D software are more eligible to be considered.
PRIZES
The five finalists will be judged by Kate Spade Global Visual Experience team, Tapestry Talent Acquisition team and WindowsWear who will select one 1st place winner, one 2nd place winner and one 3rd place winner between all submissions of projects from Kate Spade.
1ST PLACE
A paid Summer 2025 internship with Kate Spade brand, contingent on passing a legally permissible background check and confirmation of eligibility to work in the U.S. Winner must be available for the internship for a minimum of eight (8) weeks and the internship shall not exceed twelve (12) weeks. The paid internships will be conducted on an in-person basis at Tapestry, Inc.’s HQ in New York City. No living accommodations, meals or travel is included in this First Prize.
2ND PLACE
One (1) Kate Spade bag (handbag, messenger bag, tote bag or backpack, as selected by Sponsor in its sole discretion). ARV $395
3RD PLACE
One (1) Kate Spade accessory (wallet, wristlet, travel kit or other small leather good, as selected by Sponsor in its sole discretion.) ARV $95
All Finalists that are not selected as 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive a Kate Spade gift valued at $50 (valid to be used only in the U.S) and a letter congratulating them on their submission signed by Sponsor’s VP, Global Visual Experience and/or other leaders.

COACH SUMMER 2025 INTERNSHIP COMPETITION DETAILS

Coach invites you to incubate a strategy that includes at least 10 ideas to fuel retail growth and stay top of mind for Gen Z. Your goal for this project is to create an emotional connection with the Coach consumers, and to create a world where they can express themselves. The sky is the limit!
Details to be considered while developing your project:
- Experiential design
- Leaning into the 5 senses
- New social media trends
- New ways of shopping
- Possible brand extensions
