SAINT LAURENT INTERNSHIP ROLES

1. Digital Media Assistant

If you’ve ever wondered what digital marketing looks like from inside a global luxury house, this is probably the clearest entry point of the six.

The intern joins Saint Laurent’s Media & Marketing department and supports the implementation of its international digital advertising strategy.

That means working across social media advertising, display advertising and branded search, while helping manage campaigns from planning through production and reporting.

You’ll help prepare international e-publishing guidelines, collect technical specifications for media plans, monitor the production of advertising formats across markets, organize campaign documentation and analyze campaign results.

There’s also competitive analysis and monitoring of digital advertising trends, so this isn’t simply an administrative marketing internship.

WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY LEARN
The biggest takeaway here is exposure to paid media at an international scale. You’ll see how one luxury brand coordinates campaigns across markets while maintaining consistency in creative, media requirements and reporting. You’ll also begin learning the relationship between a brand’s internal image team and external agencies, which is a major part of how large fashion companies actually operate.

If you’re interested in digital marketing, media planning, paid social, performance marketing or advertising, this one has a very clear career trajectory.

IS THE SAINT LAURENT DIGITAL MEDIA INTERNSHIP RIGHT FOR YOU?
You’d likely enjoy this role if you…

✓ Like the analytical side of marketing as much as the creative side
✓ Are curious about paid social and digital advertising
✓ Enjoy tracking campaign performance and figuring out what worked
✓ Want exposure to international markets
✓ Are comfortable organizing a lot of campaign information
✓ Could see yourself working in media, digital marketing or advertising

Saint Laurent is looking for a master’s-level student with an interest in media and digital marketing. Previous agency or digital-sector experience is a plus. Excel and PowerPoint proficiency are required, along with both English and French.

2. Press Assistant, France/Europe

This is the most traditional fashion PR internship of the group.

You’ll join the Press team responsible for the French market and selected European countries, supporting day-to-day press activity and events for the women’s collections.

A significant part of the role revolves around sample trafficking, including handling requests from editors, coordinating shipments and returns, reserving samples and communicating with Saint Laurent’s showroom, packaging and prototype teams.

You’ll also maintain journalist records, monitor shopping contracts and help coordinate press activities.

WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY LEARN
Sample management can sound fairly tactical on paper. In fashion PR, it teaches you something much bigger: how editorial placement actually happens.

A magazine or stylist requesting a look triggers an entire internal process. Someone has to know where that sample is, whether it’s available, where it’s going next, when it needs to come back and which internal teams need to be involved. Doing this well requires organization, relationships and an understanding of the fashion media ecosystem.

For someone interested in luxury PR, editorial relations, communications or showroom work, that’s useful experience.

IS THE SAINT LAURENT PRESS ASSISTANT INTERNSHIP RIGHT FOR YOU?
You’d likely enjoy this role if you…

✓ Follow fashion media and editorial coverage closely
✓ Like working with people and building relationships
✓ Are extremely organized with physical products and moving pieces
✓ Can handle quick requests without losing track of details
✓ Want to understand how brands work with editors and stylists
✓ Could see yourself working in fashion PR or communications

Saint Laurent prefers candidates studying communications, press or commerce. Familiarity with Launchmetrics/Fashion GPS is a plus. The posting emphasizes organization, communication, flexibility and confidence on the phone.

Fluent French and English are required, both written and spoken.

3. Retail Merchandising, Small Accessories

This internship sits much closer to the business and product side of fashion.

The team supports men’s ready-to-wear and women’s and men’s small accessories, with particular focus on jewelry, soft accessories and sunglasses.

You’ll analyze collection performance, prepare weekly reports, help with showroom periods, monitor deliveries and stock optimization with Supply Chain, and work with Visual Merchandising on product displays.

During showroom, you’ll also help prepare the Master Order, track regional purchases and create summaries by region and product category.

WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY LEARN
This is where you start seeing how fashion products become a business. Merchandising teams need to understand which products are selling, where they’re selling, how regions are buying, what inventory is available and how the assortment should evolve.

That means this internship gives you exposure to sales analysis, assortment planning, buying behavior, inventory and merchandising strategy.

If you like fashion but also find yourself asking, “Why did the company make this product? Who is buying it? How much should each market carry?” you’re getting very close to merchandising.

IS THE SAINT LAURENT RETAIL MERCHANDISING INTERNSHIP RIGHT FOR YOU?
You’d likely enjoy this role if you…

✓ Like working with both fashion products and numbers
✓ Find consumer behavior and sales performance interesting
✓ Enjoy spotting patterns in data
✓ Want to understand how assortments are built
✓ Are interested in buying or merchandising
✓ Like working across teams such as Supply Chain and Visual Merchandising

Candidates should be enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program. Saint Laurent requires fluent French and English, strong Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot tables, and PowerPoint.

4. Events & Production Assistant

The six-month internship begins in December 2026 and sits within Saint Laurent’s Production and Events department.

You’ll help organize the logistics and operations behind internal and external events, including fashion shows, dinners, parties, exhibitions, artistic projects and showcases.

Responsibilities include researching venues, suppliers, artists and talent, monitoring project timelines, helping create event materials such as presentations, invitations and looks, maintaining event inventory, conducting competitor research and organizing event archives.

WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY LEARN
Fashion events look glamorous from the audience. Producing them is logistics, timelines, vendors, budgets, inventory, creative problem-solving and approximately 900 details that all have to work at the same time.

That’s exactly why event production experience can be so transferable. This internship gives you a view into how a luxury house translates its brand into a physical experience. You’re learning production while also seeing how events support communications, image and brand positioning.

And yes, fashion shows are specifically included in the posting.

IS THE SAINT LAURENT EVENTS & PRODUCTION INTERNSHIP RIGHT FOR YOU?
You’d likely enjoy this role if you…

✓ Like being behind the scenes
✓ Stay organized when several things are happening at once
✓ Enjoy turning a creative concept into something physical
✓ Are interested in fashion shows and experiential marketing
✓ Like researching venues, vendors and creative partners
✓ Don’t mind that event production can involve a lot of details before anyone sees the final result

The listing does not provide a separate candidate-profile section, so Saint Laurent has not disclosed specific degree, language or software requirements in the information provided.

5. Retail/Wholesale Management Control

This is essentially a finance and business-performance role inside a luxury fashion house.

You’ll work with Saint Laurent’s Retail Management Controller, analyzing worldwide retail and wholesale sales by region, country, product category and client. You’ll also work with sales projections during budgeting processes, monthly store-network reporting and regional profit-and-loss analysis.

WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY LEARN
You get to see the numbers behind the business. Fashion companies still have to understand which markets are performing, how stores are doing, what they’re spending and how actual results compare with forecasts.

That makes this especially relevant for anyone interested in fashion finance, retail analytics, business planning or commercial strategy. It also illustrates something I wish more students understood: working in fashion does not require having a traditionally “fashion” job.

IS THE SAINT LAURENT RETAIL/WHOLESALE MANAGEMENT INTERNSHIP RIGHT FOR YOU?
You’d likely enjoy this role if you…

✓ Like numbers and business analysis
✓ Want to understand how a global luxury company actually makes money
✓ Enjoy Excel more than mood boards
✓ Find sales forecasting and market performance interesting
✓ Want a career that combines fashion with finance or business
✓ Are comfortable explaining what numbers actually mean

Saint Laurent is looking for students at approximately bachelor’s through master’s level, ideally completing their studies in business, management control or a related area. Previous management-control experience is preferred, along with very strong Excel skills and fluent English.

6. Retail Merchandising, Leather Goods

If you’re interested in handbags and leather goods as a business category, pay attention to this one. The intern joins Saint Laurent’s Leather Goods Retail Merchandising team and helps monitor collection performance, analyze sales and coordinate key merchandising projects.

You’ll conduct quantitative and qualitative performance analysis, prepare end-of-season reports covering sell-through, best-performing products, price ranges and assortment reviews, and support assortment-planning projects.

During showroom periods, you’ll help prepare the Master Order, monitor regional purchasing and analyze buying feedback across regions and product categories.

WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY LEARN
Luxury leather goods are a major commercial category, so this internship gives you a particularly concentrated look at how merchandising decisions are made around high-value products.

You’ll learn how teams evaluate sell-through, pricing, assortment, regional demand and buying behavior rather than simply looking at total sales.

That’s excellent foundational experience for merchandising, buying, planning or product strategy.

IS THE SAINT LAURENT RETAIL MERCHANDISING INTERNSHIP RIGHT FOR YOU?
You’d likely enjoy this role if you…

✓ Are particularly interested in handbags and leather goods
✓ Like understanding why certain products outperform others
✓ Enjoy analyzing trends through data
✓ Are curious about regional buying differences
✓ Want exposure to showroom and buying processes
✓ Could see yourself pursuing merchandising, buying or planning

Candidates should currently be enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program, ideally in business, fashion, merchandising, economics or a related field. Saint Laurent requires fluent written and spoken English, strong Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP, PowerPoint proficiency and strong analytical ability.

Which Saint Laurent Internship Should You Apply For?

This is where I would resist the temptation to apply to six Saint Laurent internships simply because there are six Saint Laurent internships.

Look at the function first.

If you’re interested in advertising and digital marketing, start with Digital Media.

If you want PR, editorial relations or communications, look at Press.

If you’re interested in fashion shows, events and experiential production, Events & Production is the obvious choice.

If buying, product performance and assortment strategy interest you, look closely at the two Retail Merchandising positions. Small Accessories gives you broader category exposure across jewelry, soft accessories and sunglasses, while Leather Goods gives you deeper experience within one of luxury’s major product categories.

If your strengths are finance, Excel and business analysis, Retail/Wholesale Management Control may actually be the strongest fit of all.

That distinction matters because an internship should help you test or build toward a function, not simply collect a recognizable company name.

Ready to Apply?

If you’ve figured out which Saint Laurent internship makes the most sense for your career goals, you can find the direct applications below.

Maria’s Career Tip

If you’re applying to multiple internships at the same company, your applications should still make sense together.

A recruiter seeing applications for Press, Digital Media and Events can probably understand the story: you’re exploring communications, marketing and brand experiences.

Applications for Press, Leather Goods Merchandising and Management Control tell a much less obvious story.

That doesn’t automatically mean you can’t apply to them. It means you should be able to explain why each role fits the skills you’re building and the direction you’re exploring.

The brand name gets your attention. The function is what builds your career.
