The People Inc. Summer 2026 Internship Program is Open Now in NYC.

The People Inc. Summer 2026 Internship Program in New York City offers students the opportunity to gain experience inside one of the most recognizable names in media and entertainment. As the company behind iconic storytelling and pop culture coverage, People Inc. provides early-career talent with exposure to a fast-paced, creative environment where content, audience, and brand strategy intersect. This program is a strong opportunity for students interested in understanding how a major media organization operates from the inside out.

PROGRAM DETAILS:
▸ Duration: 9 Weeks
▸ Compensation: $20 per hour
▸ Deadline to Apply: January 26, 2026
Internships are available to current Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors at an accredited college or university
You must be available to work full time for the entire 9 weeks of the program in the NY office, 3 days a week
You must have access to your own housing and transportation to/from the NY office

AVAILABLE ROLES

Production Studio Intern

The People Inc Summer 2026 Production Intern will be immersed in the fast-paced world of Beauty, Style & Entertainment content creation. They’ll collaborate with creative, production, and talent teams to support a robust slate of shoots, content, and events. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, curious about the industry, and eager to learn how ideas move from concept to execution. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research and vet vendors, including production partners, talent, stylists, and event specialists.
  • Support talent coordination during pre-production by conducting outreach, securing deliverables, and collecting required metrics.
  • Participate in internal meetings, take notes, and track action items related to event planning and production workflows.
  • Assist with on-site preparation by organizing materials, checking in vendors, and supporting talent hospitality areas.
  • Maintain organized folders, spreadsheets, and shared documents to streamline production operations.
  • Provide production support for on-site shoots from organizing materials and products to prop pickups and wardrobe prep.

Talent Intern

The People Inc Summer 2026 Talent Intern will support the Talent team across the full talent management workflow, from sourcing talent for RFP pitches to assisting with post-sale coordination.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Shadow team members through key processes such as RFP evaluation, talent selection, and on-set production during local NYC shoots
  • Provide administrative support
  • Contribute to social-media–driven creative projects such as trend spotting and developing a Gen Z creator roster.
  • Assist in sourcing talent for RFP pitches

Commerce Marketing Intern

The People Inc Summer 2026 Commerce Marketing Intern will support customer acquisition and retention marketing efforts, including campaigns targeting People Inc. readers and social audiences, as well as email and SMS programs designed to engage existing users. The role also involves assisting with promotion planning and scheduling, offering hands-on experience in marketing operations, content creation, campaign execution, and creative problem-solving. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conceive, pitch, and create engaging content for digital platforms, including social media, that aligns with brand voice and seasonal priorities  
  • Contribute to content calendars and ensure deadlines are met across marketing deliverables
  • Monitor social media and competitor trends, stay current on digital marketing developments, and contribute fresh, innovative ideas.
  • Support customer acquisition marketing efforts, including campaigns targeting People Inc. readers and social audiences
  • Assist with customer retention marketing through email and SMS programs
  • Help plan and schedule promotions across key marketing channels

The People Inc Summer 2026 People Internship provides hands-on experience in writing, reporting, interviewing and fact-checking while working closely with leading editors on the pop culture stories shaping today’s culture. 


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write pre-writes for People.com and contribute reporting to front-of-book magazine sections
  • Cover events such as press junkets, red carpets and live awards shows
  • Monitor and transcribe media—talk shows, podcasts, and more—for content ideas
  • Pitch story ideas, interview talent and support planning documents like events calendars
  • Fact-check print stories and assist with additional editorial tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working at a campus publication or in a prior editorial internship
  • Excellent writing skills–a must
  • A passion for celebrity culture, as well as an interest in current events and social issues

The People Inc Summer 2026 Video Strategy Intern will support the development and production of long-form YouTube content for People Inc.’s brands.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a production assistant for NYC-based long-form YouTube shoots
  • Research interview subjects, video topics, and talent opportunities, summarizing findings to support programming
  • Create strategic talent booking lists aligned with channel needs
  • Help coordinate props and support basic production logistics, including tracking receipts and budgets
  • Contribute to thumbnail design and organize, track, and publish video assets to support upload and output schedules

The People Inc Summer 2026 Lifestyle Brand Marketing Intern will gain hands-on experience in how media programs are developed, marketed, and sold across editorial and revenue teams. This position offers a unique opportunity to learn how brand positioning and advertiser needs come together to form strategic marketing programs for some of the most influential Home & Parents brands in the industry, including: Better Homes & Gardens, REAL SIMPLE, Southern Living, Parents, The Spruce, Martha Stewart, Daily Paws, and The Spruce Pets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and evaluate emerging trends, influential creators, and competitive activity on Instagram, TikTok, etc., to support concept ideation
  • Participate in team brainstorm sessions to support the development of new offerings across Home & Parents portfolio of brands.

The People Inc Summer 2026 Byrdie/InStyle Intern will be able to work with two exciting brands within People Inc.’s Beauty & Style vertical. This internship offers aspiring writers hands-on experience producing high-traffic celebrity news while building skills in writing, SEO, and digital production. Working closely with editors, the editorial intern will gain experience pitching and executing original features, conducting interviews, and learning the inner workings of the beauty and fashion industry while becoming familiar with the team’s brand voice, editorial tools, and workflows. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support editorial production by developing familiarity with brand voice, style, and the content management system.
  • Write and build 1–3 news articles daily, while contributing to ongoing content updates and basic SEO research.
  • Conduct imagery research to support story development and visual needs.
  • Pitch ideas for features, franchises, and assigned content, contributing to editorial planning.
  • Assist social media teams with community management and research tasks, and participate in editorial meetings and brainstorms.

Beauty & Style Graphic Design Intern

The People Inc Summer 2026 Beauty & Style Graphic Design Intern will gain hands-on experience producing visual assets, learning the full workflow from concept to final delivery. The internship includes exposure to site, social, and video asset creation, behind-the-scenes insight into how a magazine cover comes together, lessons in fashion and beauty photography, and on-set shadowing for still-life shoots. This internship offers practical, real-world experience in modern digital magazine design.​

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducting photo research to support editorial initiatives
  • Assisting with the creation and production of social media assets
  • Providing on-set and logistical support for photoshoots and other production activities

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Enrolled in a university program focused on graphic design, photography, or a related creative field
  • Experience using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Familiarity with After Effects or Premiere is a plus

Research Intern

The People Inc Summer 2026 Research Intern will learn how to use People Inc’s first party data, syndicated research, marketplace and industry studies, and primary studies to uncover insights and use them to craft compelling stories to support existing and new advertising partnerships and broader corporate initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with survey development and link testing: Support questionnaire design, proofreading, and survey programming quality checks. Weaving in cultural and market context to strengthen project narratives.
  • Analyze and visualizing data: Use Excel, Google Sheets, and PowerPoint/Slides to clean data, identify insights, and build visual summaries.
  • Support insight storytelling: Help synthesize findings into clear, engaging decks that communicate consumer trends to internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Attend meetings with editorial, marketing, and insights teams to understand the real-world impact of research findings.

Social Media Intern, Better Homes & Gardens

The People Inc Summer 2026 Better Homes & Gardens Social Media Intern will help support the social media team in planning, producing, and posting content on key social media platforms. Learn about analytics and share wins or misses during team meetings. Work directly with a legacy brand and have an opportunity to create social content, assist in cross-team collaboration, and present performance data to continue to drive engagement and brand loyalty for BHG audiences. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Present brand findings, conduct competitor audits, contribute to BHG’s brand social strategy
