The Bloomingdale’s Summer 2026 Corporate Internship Program is officially open in New York City, offering students the chance to gain hands-on experience in two of the most critical functions in retail: Buying and Planning.
As one of the most influential department stores in the industry, Bloomingdale’s gives early-career talent a front-row look at how product decisions are made, how inventory strategies are built, and how trends translate into business results. For students interested in the analytical, strategic, and creative sides of retail, this internship provides meaningful exposure to the teams that shape the Bloomingdale’s assortment every season.
PROGRAM DETAILS:
▸ Duration: 8 Weeks
▸ Program Dates: June 1-July 24, 2026
▸ Modality: Hybrid
▸ Compensation: $20 per hour
▸ Eligibility: Must be a current college Junior with a solid academic record (GPA 3.2 or higher preferred)
▸ Must be authorized to work in the United States indefinitely
▸ Deadline to apply: December 7, 2025

PLANNING
Bloomingdale’s Planners are responsible to drive the business by leveraging analytics to optimize sales, gross margin, and turnover for both the stores and online business. Planners develop and execute localization strategies to capture business opportunities by demographics, climate, and other unique market characteristics.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Passionate about a career in retail across a variety of product categories
- Prior retail experience (a plus)
- Retail club + organization involvement on campus (a plus)
- Curious nature with a drive to make a direct impact in your business
- Ability to demonstrate strong analytical skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance the analytical and the creative
- Well-developed communication, interpersonal and time management skills
- Organized approach to prioritizing projects and ability to multi-task
- Ability to succeed in a team environment
- All majors welcomed, Business majors a plus
- Current college Junior with a solid academic record (GPA 3.2 or higher preferred)
- Able to work indefinitely in the US
