OVERVIEW
The Aerie Concept Design Intern will have the opportunity to work side by side and support our designers and cross-functional partners within the Aerie brand. This is a great opportunity to learn about our corporate culture and meet other talented designers within the industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist supervisor to compile seasonal conceptual design books for design, merchandising and marketing teams; covering print, color, outfitting, key items and innovations to move product on
- Conduct research and identify key social media influencers in order to recognize consumer trends and support the brand vision
- Help create on trend seasonal color palettes, manage the color process from start to finish
- Conduct photo research at target customer venues (malls, campuses, concert events) and present all findings to design and merchant teams
- Travel and shop the market identifying new trends for Aerie
- Research and compile runway, trade show, and trend reports
- Assist in the creation of in-person and digital kickoff presentations for hybrid milestone meetings
- Involved in preparation for milestone meetings, line reviews, pre-season floorsets and financial overviews, providing perspective and insight to creative leadership on product assortments
- Work closely with designers on translating concept
- Develop strong cross-functional partnerships throughout the organization
- Perform other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion or Art – Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply!
- Some previous internship or extracurricular experiences
- Working knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop and Google Suite
- Must be detail oriented, computer literate and handle multiple tasks at once; excellent communication and analytic skills.
- Passionate about Fashion, color, patterns, prints, etc.
- Familiar with MAC and PC format
- Ability to be in the New York City area for the duration of the internship (estimated January 2025)
- Ability to work a full time, 9:00am-5:00pm work week (with flexibility in hours based on deliverables)
- Ability to be in the office five days a week with flexibility for hybrid work based on the needs of the business

- Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.
